Canada Crime | Three teenage boys, 12 year old girl among five persons charged for armed robberies in Toronto

TORONTO: The invovlement of teenagers and minors in armed robberies in Toronto has brought to light the rising incidents of crime here. Inrecent criminal acts a 12 year old girl and three teenagers were found involved.

The police said that armed robberies held in Toronto stores in te area of Van Horne and Victoria Park early this year. Months long investigation has revealed the involvement of a man, a woman, a 12-year-old girl, and three teenage boys. They have been charged in connection with two armed robberies on January 2 and January 5, 2023.

In the first incident, police allege two female suspects walked into the store and asked to buy cigarettes. Four male suspects then forced entry to store and rushed behind the cash counter. One of them looted cash by showing handgun. The suspects hit the emoloyee in the head multiple times before fleeing.

police said they got another alarm call from company in the same area after few days. This time three masked suspects walked into the store. They took out a handgun and used pepper spray on the employee of store. They fled with cash and cigarettes.

On January 11 police obtained search warrrants of a residence and found two replica handguns used during the robberies.

On Jan. 18, police again executed three search warrants at other residences and found “items of evidentiary value” related to the investigation, and a woman, a girl, and a boy were found, They were taken into custody.

Kristine Dorsey, 38, and a 12-year-old girl were charged with one count of robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent. Officers charged a 15-year-old boy with two counts of the same charges.

On Jan. 23, police located another one of the wanted suspects – a 14-year-old boy – and brought him into custody, where they charged him with two counts of robbery with a firearm and two counts of disguise with intent. On Feb. 8, officers located another of the wanted suspects – a 16-year-old boy – and took him into custody.

The final outstanding suspect Ronald Irakoze, 2 was arrested on March 22 who was charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime, and eight counts of failure to comply with probation.
