Sikh Identity | SGPC Executive Committee strongly condemns hate propaganda against Sikhs and Punjab

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) executive committee meeting was held under the presidentship of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami expressed serious concern over the allegations leveled by Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in the Parliament of Canada of the involvement of officials of Indian agencies in the murder case of Hardeep Singh Nijjar .
In a special resolution passed in the meeting , it said that statement given by Prime minister in Parliament of any country is not understood as common rather considered to be fact based within scope of dignity of concerned country's constitution .
Everything said by Prime minister in Parliament cannot be rejected easily. The truth of the allegations Made by the Prime Minister of Canada against the Indian agencies should be brought to the light of the people through a sincere approach by both the countries by going beyond politics. If this case is suppressed only because of politics, it will be considered as injustice to human rights.
The resolution further strongly condemned the hate propaganda being spread against Sikhs and Punjab out of this entire phenomenon on the mainstream media and social media platforms openly. It is said that the India Canada issue has been deliberately focused by a large part of media only on character assassination of Sikhs.. Through the resolution;the SGPC executive demanded from the government of India to take this issue seriously and take action against those who tarnish
the image of Sikhs.
If it is suppressed only because of politics, it will be considered as injustice to human rights.In this entire phenomenon, the hate propaganda being spread against Sikhs and Punjab on the main media and social media platforms has also been strongly condemned and it has been said that the India-Canada issue by a large part of the media is deliberately focused only on character assassination of Sikhs. has been done Through a resolution, the Inner Committee demanded the Government of India to take this issue seriously and take action against those who tarnish the image of Sikhs.
It was also clarified that the Sikh community respects all religions and does not hold enmity against anyone. Some people are using the current situation as a weapon to create divisions among communities , which should be stopped immediately.
The SGPC executive Committee asked the Government of India to look into this matter. It was also said that action should be taken against the forces which are tarnishing the image of the Sikhs and along with this, appropriate steps should be taken to end the growing mistrust among the Sikhs.
Apart from this special resolution, SGPC executive committee took many other decisions and also discussed the matters of different departments.
In a resolution, during the military attack on Sri Akal Takht Sahib in June 1984, the Shiromani Committee specially honored the lawyers who prosecuted the cases of the Singhs who were detained in Jodhpur Jail as well as those who assisted them. The decision was made. Along with this, it has also been decided to honor Kaka Sidkdeep Singh, a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, who has the longest case, if his name is entered in the Guinness Book of World.

Malkit Singh Gahalal, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee. Pratap Singh, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, Additional Secretary. Sukhminder Singh, Mr. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, s. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Mr. Simarjit Singh, Deputy Secretary Shahbaz Singh, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Mr. Gurnam Singh, S. Balwinder Singh Khairabad, Superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, in charge Azaddeep Singh, Mr. Tarsem Singh, S. Gurmej Singh, Axion S. Jatinderpal Singh etc. were present.
